Keswick Light Switch On

Christmas is fast approaching! This week sees the Keswick light switch on, which has been planned around this year’s Children in Need on Friday 13th November 2015.

It will be an evening of fun and games, along with live entertainment, which will be broadcasted on the BBC. Pudsey himself will be switching on the Christmas lights in the Market Square, with Mike Zellor from BBC Radio Cumbria hosting the events.

Throughout the day there will be a range of activities to keep not only the children entertained, but also the adults. Starting from 9.30am, a sing-a-thon will be taking place in order to raise money for this much loved charity, with local schools taking part.

And if the great entertainment was not enough, there is also free parking in all Allerdale car parks, so why not make a full day of it! You can also come and see our very own magical Christmas window displays, whilst supporting a well recognised charity.

    Dear Friars,

I hope the webcams can be fixed in the near future. I visited Keswick in 1985 and fell in love with the town. As I live in the United States, your webcam at Christmas especially, allows me to feel connected with you .

    Kind regards,

    • Dear Duncan,

In order to open our new shop in Ambleside we had to install a new phone system, which unfortunately resulted in our webcams going offline. We are working really hard behind the scenes to try and get them fixed, but its proving a very difficult task at the moment. Once the webcams are fixed we will ensure that it is advertised on all our social media channels, including our blog.

      Kind Regards
