Vegan milk chocolate viennese truffle with a soft and smooth truffle centre and rolled in sugar for a sparkling finish. Made with rice and oat milk, this handmade truffle has all the flavour of premium chocolate but without the dairy. A perfect gift for those with a dairy intolerance or following a vegan diet.

Kakoa was founded in 2019. Since turning vegan the founders saw a lack of premium vegan chocolate on the market, particularly milk and white chocolate. All their chocolate is made by hand using rice and oat milk, to create some fabulous modern and innovative flavours. They also have concerns about the future of our planet so all their packaging is 100% biodegradable.

My favourite chocolate was always Viennese truffles but since becoming dairy free I’ve never found an alternative, until now! These are delicious, melt in the mouth and while I still remember the more milky flavour of the non-df version, these are certainly extremely close to the mark!

Not quite like Thorntons, the shell has a nice crisp texture but doesn't melt in the mouth as readily as I would have liked, the filling is quite chocolaty not as milky as I expected. These are very nice but I was a bit surprised at first because it was different to what I had hoped, still very good vegan chocolates I just had a idea in my own head that these didn't quite live up to. I will still buy these again in the future because they are good.

These are nothing like Viennese truffles which I have always found contained a light mousse. These have a thick traditional truffle filling and I didn't like them.

These used to be my favourite chocolates, but I found these very disappointing. They're rock solid, and not truffly as you'd expect. The flavour was also quite bland

I was hoping and praying that these chocolates would taste like the Thornton’s ones, but unfortunately they taste quite bland and the creaminess is lacking - a common theme with vegan chocolate. I also bought the ‘lush milk chocolate vegan truffles’ and both chocolates taste exactly the same, save for the outer crust having a slightly different texture.

My hunt for creamy, indulgent vegan chocolates continues...
