The History Of Chocolate Bars
The history of chocolate bars is a relatively recent one, as the first solid chocolate bar was invented in the 19th century. Prior to this, chocolate was primarily consumed as a drink.
The first mass-produced chocolate bar was created by the British company Fry's in 1847. The chocolate bar was made by mixing cocoa powder and sugar with melted cocoa butter, which allowed for the creation of a solid chocolate product.
In the years that followed, other chocolate manufacturers began producing their own chocolate bars and this evolved into the premium chocolate bars that you have delivered to you door today.
Friars Chocolate bars
We work with some of the best chocolate bar producers that the continent has to offer and our Goldkenn and Niederegger bars are a true delight.
Goldkenn Chocolate Bars
Swiss chocolate company Goldkenn was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1980 and has since become known around the world for its luxurious and delicious chocolate products. Unusually for a liqueur chocolate, their bars are enrobed with rich milk chocolate, making the perfect letterbox friendly gift.
Jack Daniel's Chocolate Bar
Goldkenn's Jack Daniel's Liqueur Chocolate Bar is a rich and decadent treat that combines the smooth flavour of Swiss milk chocolate with the bold and distinctive taste of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey.
The chocolate bar features a generous amount of milk chocolate, which is smooth, creamy, and rich in flavour. The chocolate is infused with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, which is made from a blend of corn, rye, and barley and aged in oak barrels to give it its distinct flavour.
Captain Morgan's Chocolate Bar
The chocolate bar features a generous amount of milk chocolate, which is smooth, creamy, and rich in flavour. The chocolate is infused with Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum, which is made from a blend of Caribbean rums and spices, including vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. A stunning flavour combination.
Niederegger Chocolate Bars
Niederegger is a German chocolate brand that has been producing high-quality chocolate products since 1806. The company is known for its delicious marzipan chocolates and is considered one of the best marzipan producers in the world.
What sets Niederegger apart is their dedication to using a high percentage of almonds in their marzipan. For instance their classic marzipan bar contains 58% almonds. Less premium marzipan is made with a much high ratio of sugar which results in a much sweeter and poorer quality chocolate bar.
In addition to this Niederegger uses only high-quality Mediterranean almonds that are carefully selected and processed to create their signature marzipan.
Our selection of Niedegger bars includes traditional bar chocolate enrobed bars enrobed with dark chocolate as well as more unusual milk chocolate marzipan bars. And for something more unusual the ginger marzipan bar is a true masterpiece.
