I have said this once before but I buy these for my mum as she loves them as it is her 80th Birthday this month I ordered a larger size which she will be thrilled about.

We liked the chocolate and the taste of the cherry and the liqueur. They looked gorgeous.
But I found them awkward to eat. I would pull out the stem, then carefully try to eat it while trying not to swallow the cherry stone!
So, I'd end up with chocolate on my fingers and they'd be sticky too.

I have been a customer of Friars for several years now and these are another of our favourites so we have ordered a number of boxes over this time. There always used to be a 1/4 inch or so thick sheet of padding inside the lid which kept the chocolates in position and stopped them jiggling around. The last 2 or 3 orders have only had a sheet of thin tissue type paper and when the box is opened a shower of chocolate sprinkles pours out everywhere, which is annoying. This last box had chocolate sprinkles all over the lid and all round inside edges of the box, much worse than any previously. Because I ordered these for ourselves for Easter they didn't travel anywhere else once delivered to our home. I must say that I did not open them on arrival to check condition - we also had a box of rose and violet creams and a box of chocolate gingers, both of these had see through lids and looked in perfect condition, so I didn't expect any less from the cherry liqueurs. Before the change of packaging in the lid I have always been so pleased with your service and the quality of your chocolates - they have been one of life's luxuries. Please will you go back to the previous, more secure packaging that you used to use.

Only thing can be improved is about the package, as when the box arrived to our house, quite a few of the items were not in the positions they should have been. I purchased these chocolates as a gift and I'm delighted to say that they were received well. There's no doubt that they are at the top end price wise but the description does say "Luxury" and that's exactly what you get. The gift box only builds the expectation before reaching inside to select the first chocolate which doesn't disappoint at all.

As the giver of these chocolates as a birthday gift, I was a little disappointed when the box was opened, since the chocolates looked quite dishevelled, in fact one had burst and the box was sticky around the rim. However, the chocolates themselves were absolutely delicious and in no way disappointing, so perhaps a little more thought is required in regard to packaging and transportation.

I've always been happy with the quality of these chocolates but this time i'm very disappointed . i bought these for my wife's birthday today but when they were opened quite a few of the chocolates were damaged , one had split and the contents had flowed over the box , either the box had not been packed correctly or it has has been dropped , very disappointed

Something of a let down really at this price. There really isn't any kick from the Kirsch and there doesn't seem to be much of it. If that seems unfair I have bought similar 'whole cherry' chocolates that look identical to these that had a significant amount of Kirsch around the stone and a noticeable flavour that made them stand out from cheaper high street versions. I'm afraid to say that M&S do a box of these, without stones or stalks admittedly, for about £4.00 that taste better.

So very happy with the Cherry Liqueurs with the whole cherry bought as a Christmas gift. The recipient was delighted and said they were the best chocolates he had ever had but was surprised that the stalk was plastic. This was not obvious when I bought them online. This did not affect the enjoyment of them but should have been mentioned in the description.
